We are so fortunate that the pingster doesn\'t have the ability to shut up our fabulous court reporting...great! great! great!!! and some more like that! Thank you very much Vanessa!
ALSO,(and now my tirade) The judge, who is supposed to be a nuetral observer, obviously alligned himself with the prosecution in this case. The Bailiff,(didn\'t see one did you) is supposed to see to it that the Judge stays impartial, and follows courtroom policies, and to make sure that the defense and prosecution both get a fair chance...perhaps the judge had the bailiff removed???Probably right after ping announced to the jury pool, she wanted the federal government to get a fair trial. The Judge admonished the audience for laughter, but not the bald headed titterers from the DEA, or any other DEA representative that impolitely made noises in the audience. In fact , an audience member was removed for laughter, when it was DEA people laughing on either side of her.
This was at the very least a travesty of justice.More likely it should be considered a move at completely undermining the constitution of the United States and the people it is supposed to represent. I believe that is called treason.I was so appalled at the hearings leading up to this trial I already knew that these two people would not get a fair shake. It was perhaps the most helpless I have felt since the day I looked into my little sisters eyes and told her she would be okay...even though I knew , she would not...I felt the tears welling up in me as the judge again denied the defense the right to defend.Dale couldn\'t do anything , Tony couldn\'t, and I as well as an entire courtroom of Schafer and Fry supporters, couldn\'t do or say anything to counter the viscious mischaracterizations that the pingster presented. It kills me!I had heard that ping recently lost a friend to breast cancer. I have many wonderings about this...I couldn\'t help but ask myself whether or not her friend used cannabis to help her through the end, and if pings friend hid the fact from her because the pingster would have her and anyone helping her arrested? I couldn\'t help but wonder if , at any time she felt the compassion that doctor fry routinely dolled out? I wondered what she would have said to her friend, if her friend asked her to get some mmj to reduce the suffering...and I wonder if ping simply offered her friend a handgun...oh yea, assisted suicide is against the law too...
We the people must make changes. They are going to have to start at the top, and then perhaps we can reassign the pings of government to the motorpool...or painting addresses on curbs.
I refuseto quit. To sorta quote Winston Churchill, (and Laura Carden) \" don\'t ever give in, don\'t ever EVER give up.
In my humble opinion - Dave Bishop

Really, this case was lost during jury selection when anyone that voted for Prop 215 (60% of voters) was automatically disqualified. The jury was not their peers, but to finish it off, the ones that did get selected had to take an oath to ignore state law and obey the judge no matter what. Shame on these high officials entrusted with our judicial system. There is a reason the judge wore a black robe the whole time and did not want his picture published! - Tim Castleman

outrages

There are so many outrages intertwined within this case it is hard to know where to begin.

Elvy Musikka\'s federal prescription for medical marijuana was ruled irrelevant.

Doc Fry has ads that run on various radio stations. Ridiculous questions about some of the songs on the playlist were ruled admissible. \"Hard rock,\" was identified as the type of radio station utilized. Pings mocked the music, phrasing the words to indicate disgust at the very idea.

Posters were torn from the walls of Fry/Schafer\'s residence, and entered into evidence.

Hemp foods from an unrelated demonstration at DEA headquarters were inexplicably entered into evidence.

Chris Conrad\'s testimony should have been heard. Conrad is an important expert witness, and Damrell cut the day short instead of allowing him to take the stand. That was a poor decision.

Anne Pings asked the judge to rule that no Schafer children would be permitted to be on the 10th or 11th floors, where the U.S. Attorney\'s office resides. She interpreted Heather Schafer\'s accidental visit to the floor as witness intimidation!

Silly!

A supporter was asked to leave the courtroom during Lichter\'s closing arguments. The jumpy marshals claimed that the judge had signaled the removal with his eyes.

A well known reporter for a local daily paper slept on numerous occasions during the trial. On one day his snoring was so loud, the entire courtroom heard it. Even the judge.

Pings objected to calling Dr. Fry\'s medical clients \"patients.\" Judge Damrell sustained that objection.

I was singled out for an, \"empty your pockets\" search at entry, while no one else was.

The judge instructed the jury to disregard anything about \"compassion, or anything like that.\" - Peter Gabriel Keyes
